A Sneak Peek at Rise & Shine

Have we talked about how bad I am at waiting for good things?
For a baby to be born. For birthdays. Summer vacation. For cocktail hour. For a new dress to arrive from Gilt. For dessert.
It’s true.
And a good thing is happening in August that I can’t wait any longer to share.
I wrote it for you. For all of us busy, hungry people who need to put something nourishing and delicious into our bellies before the day is off and running.
Inside you’ll find 75 family-friendly recipes, most of them entry-level easy (many can be knocked out in the time it takes for your coffee to drip into the pot). The book covers everything from eggs to smoothies, baked goods to breakfast sandwiches. There is a an entire chapter devoted to toast and one just for lazy weekend mornings (I’d argue that Mr. Mom’s Kitchen’s secret family recipe for Huevos Rancheros in the weekend chapter is worth the price of the book alone). Oprah got so excited, she featured one of the recipes just last week (I’m using “Oprah” rather loosely here. It was probably Gayle or Stedman who did it, but still).
Take a gander at the magic that photographer Erin Scott and superstar stylist Lillian Kang worked with my recipes. (HOPE YOU’RE NOT HUNGRY).
Milk and Cereal Bars
Big Joe’s Huevos Rancheros
A Green Smoothie (even kids will love)
Banana Chocolate Chip Millet Bread (for oven or slow cooker)
Egg in a Nest Pesto Pizza
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Muesli
