After a home baking marathon with Rosie, I spent Saturday morning at the neighborhood Farmer’s Market while she set up shop with a bake sale.

Had plenty of time to peruse the stalls where this caught my eye at one of the fruit stands:  a farmer with a sense of humor.

This grabbed my attention, too: My kind of kids’ menu

Went home with salad fixings for lunch with a dressing that went something like this: 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, juice of one lime, tablespoon white wine vinegar, tablespoon (or 2?) creme fraiche, salt, pepper, and enough olive oil to make it taste just right.

I also picked up an abundance of fall fruit for a potluck dessert, which had tough competition at the buffet from this Chocolate Bundt Cake.

I got into the chocolate myself for a potluck later in the week. My first ever Texas Sheet Cake. Fun to make, delicious to eat.

Back to basics, this week’s lunches were all about wraps and rolls . First this turkey, avocado, tomato wrap.

Later, peanut butter banana roll ups.

For breakfast-to-go one busy morning, I  layered oatmeal, diced persimmon, dried cranberries, and sliced almonds in jelly jars and topped it off with milk.

For dinner, it was an updated version of this old favorite — stuffed baked potatoes — inspired by this recipe from Dash and Bella. Mine was a little less decadent, but nobody seemed to mind.

This also earned thumbs up — paella at a friend’s birthday lunch at Food Network chef Michael Chiarello’s Spanish restaurant, Coqueta.

On the subject of cookbooks…good news:  mine, sold out since early September, is finally back in stock. It should show up in bookstores any day now, and if you ordered it on Amazon, fingers crossed, it will arrive soon.
